Is my first AMD build up to par?

I'm putting together my first AMD build after getting great feedback on my previous parts list. This gaming PC will be primarily for gaming, with a budget of about $2,500. Even though my parts list might exceed that a bit, I'm hoping to catch some deals, and I don't currently need peripherals or a monitor, so I'm focusing on the core components. My last builds lasted about a decade without upgrades, so I'm planning for the long haul. I'm particularly curious if there are any compatibility issues or bottlenecks with what I've chosen, especially because this is my first time with AMD. Also, once I get a monitor, should I aim for 1440p or 4K? Lastly, when building a rig from scratch, is it better to buy parts as you find deals, or should you wait and buy everything at once? I worry that if I piecemeal it, I might have issues when testing. Here's the parts list I'm considering: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bT2FDj](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bT2FDj)

I think you're in good shape! The GPU might end up being your bottleneck, but you're pairing it with a top-tier CPU. You could save some cash by downgrading the SSD or RAM; CL30 is a safer bet for performance. For the monitor, if you're into standout single-player games, go for 4K. For competitive games, 1440p has its perks too.

That makes sense! Considering the current games I enjoy, like Valheim and Elden Ring, would sticking to 4K still be advisable?

Absolutely, especially if you’re not chasing the highest frame rates. A good balance for those titles.

Why does your PSU have such a high wattage?

I’m aiming for around 60% utilization to allow for spikes and avoid instability.

Your build looks solid overall, but I suggest considering a different PSU. Aim for a unit from a reputable brand with a 10-12 year warranty. And let's be real, while your setup is great, it might have a hard time handling AAA games at 4K for the long term. With evolving requirements, even 1440p could be a challenge as new consoles come out in a few years.

This PSU is highly rated and a great value for the price! It's not the issue here.

Thanks for the tip! But I saw a 10-year warranty on Newegg for this PSU. I've had success with it before, so I hope it holds up!
