I'm on a really tight budget and looking to build a PC that can run Fortnite at around 144 FPS. I need suggestions for parts or pre-built options that fit within the $400 range. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, unless you really want a PC, you might get a lot more bang for your buck with a console at this price point.

If you’re okay with used parts, check out this link: [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Kv2QWc). Aim to buy the motherboard, CPU, and RAM used, and then grab a used graphics card like the 6600 XT or 4060. You should be able to stay close to that $400 budget while hitting 144 FPS at 1080p in Fortnite. Just a heads up, going for new AM4 parts might not be the best bet - used is where it's at!

To hit that 144 FPS mark in Fortnite, you might want to consider using a Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel i5-9400F processor, which can be found for around $50 to $80. For the graphics card, options like the GTX 1660 Super, RX 580, or GTX 1070 could work well, priced between $80 and $130. Don't forget to grab 16GB of DDR4 RAM (2x8GB, 3000MHz) for about $30 to $40. You’ll need a compatible motherboard (like B450 or H310/B365) for $30 to $50, a 480GB SSD for around $20 to $30, and a decent power supply for about $30 to $40. In total, you could put this entire setup together for about $350 to $400 if you shop for used or discounted parts!

Sweet! Do you know any monitors that can handle 144Hz but don’t cost a lot?

I feel like the 2600 could definitely get you to 144 FPS, but it might dip during intense action scenes. Not sure if that's a big deal for you, though.

I’ve seen some decent pre-built options on eBay for around $400, like an i7 9700k with an RTX 2060 for $399, or a Ryzen 2600 with an RX 5700 XT for $350. These setups should easily get you 144 FPS, so that's worth checking out!
