Is My Gaming PC Build Good Enough for Future Games?

I'm planning to build a gaming PC using PCPartPicker and I want to make sure I'm making the right choices. My goal is to play a variety of games like Roblox, Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, Minecraft, and other story-driven games, ideally at mid to high graphics settings with stable 60 FPS or more. I'm currently stuck playing on low settings, so I hope to upgrade to at least some ultra settings for a few games. I'd love to run Cyberpunk and Elden Ring on mid graphics. I'm considering going with a GPU like the 4080 SUPER, but I've also thought about saving some money with a 4060. With GTA VI on the horizon, I want to ensure my setup is future-proof. Should I stick with the 4080 SUPER or go for the more budget-friendly 4060 and plan to upgrade in a couple of years?

If you're looking for strong performance without breaking the bank, consider swapping the i9 14900K for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Pair it with an RTX 4070 Ti for solid 1440p gaming at high to ultra graphics, and you’ll stay around 60 FPS easily.

I’ve always been an Intel fan, but I’m open to trying Ryzen. Could be a good switch!

Definitely worth considering! Ryzen has some great performance for gaming.

Are you really willing to drop $2000 on a 4080 SUPER? Might be overkill depending on your gaming needs.

Not really looking to spend that much, but I thought it might be worth it in the long run.

If you plan to keep it for years, it could be a solid investment!

Before deciding, think about whether you'll use this PC for more than just gaming. If you're also looking to stream or edit videos down the line, you might want a more powerful setup. If pure gaming is your focus, then invest in a strong GPU.

Yeah, I'm definitely focusing on gaming first, but streaming is a future goal.

In that case, a stronger CPU and GPU would help with streaming later on, especially if you want high-quality graphics.

Forget the hard drive; get a good NVMe M.2 2TB SSD instead! It's super fast and will greatly improve load times for just about everything.

I totally didn’t notice that was a hard drive! SSD is the way to go for sure!

Good catch! SSDs make a huge difference in performance.
