I have a prebuilt gaming PC from iBuyPower that I bought back in late 2018, and I typically play games like Rust, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six Siege. Lately, I've been experiencing some major problems: after just a few minutes of gameplay, my PC freezes up completely while I can still hear my friends on Discord for about a minute. Eventually, I have to force shut it down by holding the power button. Moreover, when I restart, especially in Rust, my frame rate drops to an unbearable 1-6 FPS, making it almost impossible to play. I've ensured that all my drivers are up to date and even tried removing and redownloading them, but nothing seems to work. I'm not very tech-savvy and would appreciate any guidance. Here's what I know about my specs: **Graphics Card:** NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, **CPU:** i7-9700K @ 3.60GHz, **Storage:** 1TB SSD, **RAM:** 16GB, and **Motherboard:** ASUS Prime Z390-P. I've also factory reset my PC a few months ago, and that didn't help either. If you need any additional info, just let me know how to check for it!

Your setup should be more than capable of running those games smoothly. It sounds like you're facing either a software issue or a failing piece of hardware. I would usually recommend a complete Windows reinstall if you're comfortable with that, but I understand it can be daunting for someone who's not too familiar with PCs. It's also worth checking your CPU temperatures while gaming—overheating could be causing those freezes.

So should I just save up for a new PC if it’s going down the hardware route?
