Is my GPU temp too high at 88°C while gaming?

Hey, I'm looking for some help with my GPU temp issue. I've got a 3090 and an i7-14700KF, all housed in a MAG Force 112R case. I have three intake fans at the front and three exhaust fans (including an AIO cooler for the CPU). However, while playing Metro Exodus at 1440p (not even using full ray tracing due to performance drops), my GPU temperature hits 88°C. I've noticed that other users report their 3090s running at 60-70°C under similar conditions. I recently changed the thermal pads and thermal paste, so it's not like I'm using old material. Should I be concerned about these temps? Any advice on cooling it down would be appreciated. Thanks!

88°C is definitely hot, but it's not going to kill your GPU unless it hits 100°C consistently. Just keep an eye on it. If it starts going above that, it might be time to investigate cooling options!

When you swapped the thermal paste, did you notice any temperature drop? If your fans are still loud and working hard, maybe check your fan curve settings. Undervolting your GPU can help lower the temperature as well. Just remember, mid 80s is common for a 3090, but consistency is key.

88°C is on the high side, but it's still within safe limits for the 3090. Most GPUs can handle up to 90°C without immediate damage. Just make sure to monitor it, and if temps keep rising, you may need to adjust your cooling setup or consider undervolting the card for better temps.
