I'm having some serious issues with my iPad lately. The audio keeps distorting, it randomly shuts off, and I see a little gear icon popping up. My AirPods have been sounding muffled too. Plus, even with just four apps, it's constantly running out of space. This is all really weird because I've never experienced any of this before, except maybe the space issue. Could this be due to hacking?

I think you’re overreacting a bit! People often assume they’ve been hacked with the tiniest technical hiccups. Your iPad might just need servicing. Why not take it to your local Apple Store? They can run some diagnostics to see what's up.
It’s easy to jump to conclusions when glitches happen, but trust me, hackers aren’t spending their time on your iPad. You’re probably not even a blip on their radar. Just think about how absurd it is for someone to go through all that trouble for your device! Maybe it's just a minor issue, and you should consider an update or a device check.
