Is My Linux Admin Training Plan Still Relevant?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to dive back into Linux training and I'm planning to use a Udemy course on either my Mac or Windows machine. However, I just found some old notes from a previous attempt to learn Linux, and I'm wondering if the training plan I had is still relevant for today's enterprise scenarios. I'm particularly curious to know if there's a better set of labs or projects I can work on in my home lab to really get a grasp of Linux and enterprise management. Here's what I have in my notes: a detailed list of tasks and labs including setting up a KVM hypervisor, creating a Spacewalk server, and other complex setups. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Puppet? Really? I'd suggest looking into Ansible instead. It’s much more popular now, and you might get some confused looks if you mention Puppet in interviews!

I still think Puppet has its place, but Ansible is definitely the trend these days.

Your list seems a bit outdated; it's over 7 years old. While the fundamentals haven’t changed, some tools and technologies may have evolved. Still, most of the basic concepts remain relevant!

LOL, that made me laugh! But seriously, do you think something major is missing?

You should definitely check out linuxupskillchallenge! It's a great way to get more hands-on practice and learn new skills in a community setting.
