Is My New GPU Being Bottlenecked by My CPU?

I recently upgraded my GPU from a 3060 to a 5070, but I'm having some doubts about whether I'm facing a bottleneck. I have a Ryzen 7 5800x, and I'm seeing high CPU utilization in the 80s, while my GPU usage is only in the 30s. I'm curious to know if this might be a Windows issue or if I should consider upgrading my CPU for better performance.

The performance you're seeing really depends on the games you're playing and the resolution. I suggest checking out benchmarks for similar CPUs with your GPU in the specific games you play. That way, you can gauge whether it's worth it to invest in a new CPU, motherboard, and RAM.

Yeah, benchmarks can really show how different setups perform in various games. Some games can really tax the CPU more than the GPU, so it's definitely worth looking into!

Are you gaming at 1080p? If so, you might want to consider upgrading to a 1440p monitor to really push your GPU. Personally, I use a Ryzen 5800x with a 3080 at 3440x1440, and I've found that the 5070 would suit that resolution even better with our CPUs.

Right now, I'm on 1080p, but I’m not looking to upgrade my monitor just yet. But it’s definitely something I’m thinking of for the future!
