Is My New PC Build Enough for Basic Use?

I've recently built a new PC with an Intel i7 14700 processor and an RTX 5060 Ti graphics card. Currently, I have 16 GB of RAM, but I'm considering adding another 16 GB from an old PC. Do you all think this setup is good for general tasks like browsing the internet and watching YouTube?

Your setup is great! I recently switched from 16 GB to 32 GB, and while I saw a small improvement in performance, it wasn't drastic. For simple stuff like YouTube and browsing, 16 GB is usually sufficient. You might find some good deals online for upgrades later on.

It really depends on whether your RAM is DDR4 or DDR5 since the LG1700 socket supports both. If you can, I’d recommend getting more RAM when you can afford it, but for browsing and streaming, 16 GB is typically enough. Just make sure you're using an XMP profile for better performance if you choose to stick with what you have.

Your PC is solid for basic tasks, and honestly, 16 GB of RAM should do just fine. Adding more RAM can help, but mismatching sticks isn't ideal. If your old PC's RAM isn’t compatible, I’d wait for prices to drop and look for the same model as what you already have if you want to upgrade later.
