Hey everyone! I'm putting together a new PC build since my trusty i5 8600K has served me for about 8 years now. I'm experiencing low FPS in games like CS2, even when I lower the settings, so I want a setup that will last a while. Here's what I'm planning to get:
- **CPU:** AMD 9800X3D
- **Motherboard:** MSI PRO X870E-P WiFi
- **RAM:** G.SKILL Flare X5 Series (AMD Expo) DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MT/s
- **SSD:** Samsung 990 PRO 1TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 (already have it)
- **GPU:** MSI Gaming RTX 5070 12G Ventus 3X OC
- **Case:** Fractal Design North Charcoal Black Tempered Glass
- **PSU:** MSI MAG A750GL PCIE 5.1 & ATX 3.1
Does this setup make sense? Is everything balanced? Also, I was considering a 5060 Ti 16GB or potentially getting the 8GB version and upgrading later. Just wanted to see if the deals for the 5070 12GB at $550 make it worth it instead.

The RTX 5070 is definitely the better option at $550 compared to the 5060 Ti 16GB. For the price, you get better performance. Just a heads up, the Samsung 990 Pro is pretty overkill for gaming; you could go with something cheaper and still load games quickly. As for the motherboard, the X870E doesn’t offer much advantage, so consider the B650E instead, which is cheaper and gives you similar performance. And for the PSU, you might want to check out the Be Quiet Pure Power 13M instead for more reliability under load.
I think your build looks solid! The 5070 is far superior to the 5060 Ti, and you won't need to worry about VRAM in most games unless you're playing at super crazy settings. You should be good for 1440p gaming. If you want to be safe for future-proofing with newer games, the 5070 is the way to go.
Your build is looking nice and balanced! But just keep an eye on your motherboard pricing. If it’s from a Microcenter bundle, you might have a good deal. If you're aiming for higher resolutions or newer AAA titles, definitely make the 5070 a priority. Overall, great choices!
