Is My PC Build Good or Overpriced?

Hey folks, I'm diving into PC building and have been learning for about a month now. I got some advice from friends and found a Discord group with about 4k members that helped me out. Here's the build I've assembled so far: https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/V4V8qH.

I've purchased a few parts, but after chatting with some other pals, they mentioned I could achieve the same performance for less cash and that my build might not be that great overall. Now I'm second-guessing myself. Is the price-to-performance ratio off? And what about the cooling setup—am I good there? Any feedback would be super helpful!

It's actually good that you're questioning things! With PCI Express 7.0 on the horizon, there might be some shifts in what components to consider. However, most of that tech won't hit consumer markets until 2027, and I wouldn't worry about it right now. Focus on the value and compatibility of your current parts!

Thanks for that perspective! I really just want to ensure my current build is a smart investment for today.

The case you picked is definitely on the pricey side, but it's all about airflow and looks, right? Just keep in mind that availability for the 7800xt might be tough since it's out of production. But since you've already got one, you're ahead of the game!

Yeah, I went for aesthetics with the case. Good to know about the graphics card, I appreciate that!

Your motherboard choice looks solid! It might be a bit overkill, but having good VRMs and build quality means you're set for upgrades in the future. If you wanted to save cash, you might think about downgrading to a 650, but it's not a massive difference overall. Plus, it’ll give you a solid foundation for future upgrades!

Totally agree! The VRMs will keep your system stable, which is crucial if you're planning on pushing your build in the future.
