Is My PC Setup Going to Bottleneck with My New GPU?

I'm thinking about upgrading my PC but I'm worried I've made some choices that might bottleneck my system. My current setup includes an Asus B450 motherboard, a Ryzen 5 3600, and an Nvidia 3060. I'm now planning to buy an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT. Given my current CPU and GPU, am I going to face any significant bottlenecks?

Bottlenecks can often be overstated. The crucial factor is if your CPU can keep up with your GPU for the frame rates you want. Just check your GPU usage; if it’s near 100% while gaming, then you’re likely hitting a bottleneck. But, if it’s lower, your CPU might be the one slowing things down.

If you're looking for a workaround, I found a bundle deal at Micro Center for the 9600X. It comes with a CPU, motherboard, and a 16GB RAM stick for just $280. Might be worth checking out!

There will always be some degree of bottleneck in any setup, but that doesn’t mean your rig can't perform well. The key is to find a balance between CPU and GPU power to meet your gaming needs without limiting performance too much.

Your CPU is decent but if you're looking for better performance, consider upgrading to something like a 5700X3D. Just remember, you’ll need a new cooler too since the stock one isn’t great. Also, if you’re on a budget, a build with a 7600 non-X would be a smart choice—it comes with a cooler and with the right RAM, it could save you money overall.

That’s solid advice! Plus, starting fresh with a newer build might actually turn out to be more cost-effective in the long run.
