Is My PC’s Performance Declining, or Am I Just Overthinking It?

Hey everyone, I'm a bit concerned about my PC's performance lately. I built it back in June with an RTX 5090 and a 9950x3d processor. I've got it undervolted and mostly play Marvel Rivals at 1080p on low settings, capped at 240hz. Looking at this image [link to imgur], I noticed a drop in performance over time, and I'm worried that I'm now getting lower frame rates in the game compared to a few weeks ago. I'm aware that this could be due to driver issues or updates in the game, but I've made sure to keep my drivers up to date. My biggest fear is whether this is a sign of a melted connector or if I'm just being paranoid since I haven't noticed any other issues. Is my graphics card in trouble, or should I just chill out about it?

Honestly, the difference you’re seeing in your 1% lows is pretty minor and could easily be attributed to background processes running on your PC. As for the melted connector, you wouldn’t just see performance dips; you’d notice physical signs like burning smells or visible damage. Plus, your RTX 5090 can definitely handle higher settings at 1080p without any issues. You ought to crank those graphics up a bit!

I understand, but I’m very much routine about closing all background apps before playing, which makes the drop even more confusing for me.

Going from 238 fps to 236 fps isn’t a big deal at all. It’s less than a 1% difference. You shouldn't worry too much unless you see major drops.

The stats you mentioned show that your frame rates are nearly identical. What you’re experiencing might just be some normal run-to-run variance.

True, but I’m a stickler for that 240fps mark in games like this. Lately, I'm dipping to around 235-240fps when it used to be steady at 240. It’s just a bit concerning since it's not the same as a few weeks ago.

Have you tried launching other games to see if the performance dip is consistent? Sometimes it helps to compare across different titles.

I've only really played Marvel Rivals on this setup, so I can't really compare it to anything else.
