I've been using a SuperFlower Leadex VII PRO 1000W ATX3.1 80 Plus Platinum power supply since September 2025 without any issues, but recently I've started experiencing some strange behavior with my PC.
1. When I put the PC to sleep and try to wake it up—whether by pressing the power button or moving the mouse—the case fans and RGB lights flicker on for about half a second before the system shuts down and restarts, which has never happened before.
2. One time during shutdown, the PSU fan kicked into overdrive, sounding almost explosive—definitely not normal.
3. My RTX 5090 used to draw 600W when playing graphically intense games, but now it's only pulling around 450 to 500W, even with the same overclock settings.
4. Today, when I hibernated my PC (since sleep mode seems broken), I couldn't wake it with the case or motherboard power button. I had to unplug and replug the power cable to get it to boot up.
I've just bought an ASUS ROG Thor 1200W Platinum III to swap in tomorrow, but I want to know if anyone else has had similar issues?

It could definitely be a PSU issue, but with a setup that powerful, it's always a good idea to leave ample headroom. 1000W seems a bit tight for an RTX 5090, especially during high loads. Better safe than sorry!
Honestly, if your system is still relatively new, consider returning the PSU under warranty instead of rushing to buy a new one. You never know, you might just have a faulty unit.

RMAing can take ages though, and I really need my PC for work. I think buying a new PSU is faster, even with the loss from selling the old one.
