I'm getting ready to dive into using Linux for the first time and could really use some help picking a distribution. I have a Ryzen CPU and an Nvidia GPU. My main focus will be on gaming, as well as using Photoshop and Illustrator. I play games like Marvel Rivals and League of Legends, so I want to make sure whatever distribution I choose will support that. Any tips on which distro is best for these needs, and are there any particular things I should be aware of during the installation?

Just a heads up, Adobe software like Photoshop and Illustrator won't run perfectly because they rely on certain Windows functions that Wine hasn't fully replicated. Plus, League of Legends won’t run on Linux due to its anti-cheat software, which checks for modifications in the OS. If those are your must-haves, sticking with Windows might be wise.
You can go with any popular Linux distro that appeals to you visually. Most of them are quite similar internally, so pick one that you think looks good and is user-friendly.
It's important to know that both Adobe products and Riot games don't generally work on Linux. For more info on game compatibility, check out areweanticheatyet.com and protondb.com, as they can give you a better idea about what's runnable on Linux.
You're in luck! Recent Wine updates can run Adobe software really well on Linux. Just bear in mind that games with kernel-level anti-cheat systems might not work at all. So, that could be a dealbreaker for some of your gaming.

True, aside from those few exceptions, pretty much any distro should work for you!
