Hey everyone! I recently got a work PC handed down to me after my company upgraded their systems. I know the hardware is around a decade old, but I'm mostly looking to use it for playing Sims 4 with mods for my wife, and for starting to manage my digital music collection. I'm hoping I won't need to do too many upgrades. Also, I'd like to confirm that if I replace the hard drive, all my old work files and programs will be deleted, right? Here are the specs:

- GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 TI
- CPU: AMD FX 6300
- PSU: Thermaltake Smart 500
- Hard Drive: Toshiba PC P300
- Motherboard: Asrock 970A-G/3.1

Let me know if you need more info. Thanks for your help!

Honestly, for what you want to do, this setup should be good enough! Just make sure to back up your files if you get a new SSD, and you can either install a fresh version of Windows or clone your old drive. By the way, I highly recommend upgrading to an SSD—it makes a big difference!

Yeah, getting an SSD is a must—it really speeds things up! After that, just give Sims 4 a try and see how it performs; I think it will run fine for you.

Got it, thanks! Just to double-check, I won’t be keeping any old files from work, right? I want to start fresh with the new hard drive.

Your CPU is a bit below the recommended specs for newer games, but for running Sims 4, you should be fine. It might even run on a toaster!
