With NVIDIA planning to cut GPU production by 40% and ongoing issues with RAM prices, I'm questioning whether it's smart to buy a new GPU right now. I'm considering building a new PC since my current setup with a Ryzen 5 5600X and a 3060 is starting to struggle with current games. Since RAM prices are high, I've put my build on hold, but I've noticed that GPU prices have only gone up by about $30 recently. I'm particularly interested in the 5070 or potentially the 5070 Ti if I can find one at a reasonable price. I would love to hear your thoughts and any recommendations for GPUs, especially from those of you based in Europe!

Honestly, now's a decent time to buy a GPU. Prices are only going to rise due to that RAM shortage. If you can afford it, I'd say go for it!
I just sold my 3080 for $300 and upgraded to a 9070 XT for $579. It felt like the right move with how prices are changing.
GPU prices are actually pretty decent right now compared to what's expected in the near future. If you're eyeing the 5070/5070Ti, also consider checking out the 9070 as they could be a better deal around the same performance. Just keep your eyes on the market, because these prices won't stay low for long.
I had my eyes on the 9070 too. If AMD keeps updating their software, it might surpass the 5070!
I’ve seen the 9070 starting to become more available at better prices lately.
If you can swing it financially, now is the best time. I've been holding off, but seeing prices rise almost daily makes me think twice!
I’m going for a 9060 because I can't stretch my budget to a 9070 right now.
I read the article where the production cut was discussed, and it specifically mentioned the Asian market, so unless you're in China, it might not affect you directly. Prices will definitely go up, though, so buying now seems smart if you're ready!
Is that really the case? Can the Chinese market not influence the global prices?
Yeah, I've noticed that if they buy hardware from overseas, it could affect us all.
I splurged and upgraded everything a couple of months ago, and I'm really happy about it! Got a sweet deal on a prebuilt rig that was hard to pass up.
Same here! I was on the fence too but I grabbed a 5070 on Black Friday, and it changed my gaming experience for the better.
Yeah, I was really trying to wait for prices to drop, but now I'm glad I didn't!

It's wild how building PCs feels like a gamble now, like Wall Street! I still remember when investing advice was all the rage.
