I recently had my PC built at a local shop and they used my old power supply, which only has one 8-pin connector for the motherboard. They recommended using two connectors, but everything seemed to work fine at the shop. Now, I'm still looking for my PSU box to see if there's an extra 8-pin cable in there. Can I temporarily use my setup with only one connection? I'm not very familiar with this, but I need to get my PC up and running as soon as possible. Here are the specs of my build: Ryzen 7 7700, MSI B650M Gaming Plus motherboard, Gigabyte 9060XT 16GB, and Assassin 4 air cooler with a Coolermaster SFX 750W Gold power supply.

Honestly, having just one 8-pin connector is typically sufficient for most setups. The second connector is more of a bonus for extreme overclocking scenarios.
Yes, you're perfectly fine with just one connector. Honestly, manufacturers sometimes include two connectors for marketing. For your AM5 CPU, it won’t draw that much power unless you're going all out with extreme overclocking, which isn’t what those boards are built for.
Thank you!
The one 8-pin EPS cable can handle over 200W of CPU power by itself! For your Ryzen 7 7700, you shouldn't have any issues; it won’t draw more power than what the single connector can handle, even with a bit of overclocking.
Thank you!
