I've been checking out various Linux distributions and Red Hat caught my attention because it looks pretty cool! But I'm curious, is Red Hat a good option for personal use? Also, is it free?

Just so you know, Red Hat Linux isn't really a thing anymore—it transformed into Fedora. While you can technically use Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) for free if you sign up, it comes with some limitations and requires a subscription for support. I think you'll have a better experience with Fedora for personal use!
If you're considering Red Hat, I would actually recommend Fedora instead. It's the community version that's free to use. Keep in mind, though, you'll need to get non-free codecs separately if you want them from RPM Fusion. Red Hat itself is more geared towards enterprise users, so it might not be the best fit for personal projects.
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll definitely check out Fedora.
