I'm trying to upgrade my PC to Windows 11, but I don't have TPM 2.0. I discovered a method using RUFUS that allows me to install it anyway. Is this a security risk? What are my options here? Also, is there a way to add TPM 2.0 to my current setup? My machine is fairly old, and I mainly use it just for handling my taxes.
Here are my specs:
- Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K (5.0 GHz Turbo, 16 Threads, 8 Cores)
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING (Intel Z370 Chipset)
Honestly, I'm hesitant to buy a new PC just to do my taxes.

If you're only using your PC for taxes, you might question the need for an upgrade. But for security reasons, staying updated is important, especially since Windows 10 is losing support soon. Going to Windows 11 would help you receive the necessary security updates, which is a smart move.
Running Windows 11 without TPM 2.0 is likely fine for most everyday users, including you. Although your PC may feel old, it seems capable enough for what you're doing. You might only need to enable TPM 2.0 in your BIOS settings. Check out this guide for those settings: [Link to guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/o8timh/asus_z370_tpm_20_settings_for_windows_11/)
Just a reminder that before you mess with BIOS settings or make any big changes, make sure your data is backed up. Losing data could be a serious issue if something goes wrong!
Thanks for the tip! I think updating my BIOS might be all I need to do for TPM 2.0 support. I ran a compatibility check this weekend, and I was pretty nervous when it didn't pass.
