Has anyone here self-hosted Sentry? I keep hearing mixed reviews, with some folks sharing horror stories about the complexity and constant maintenance involved. I'm curious if the effort really pays off compared to simply using it as a SaaS solution. I've looked at the helm chart, and it seems quite daunting. Could the time invested in configuring and troubleshooting Sentry end up costing more than just going with the SaaS option?

I've had my share of struggles with self-hosting Sentry too. It turned out to be quite a nightmare for us. However, we did have some success with GlitchTip, which is a simpler, lighter alternative for certain projects.
Yeah, I tried deploying it with Helm, and honestly, it was a major hassle. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a solid budget for ongoing maintenance.
If you're looking for an open-source error tracking tool that’s easier to self-host, I’d suggest checking out some alternatives. Something lightweight could work fine if your needs are modest, like handling 1-5k users monthly.
Do you have any specific issues you ran into? I'm trying to convince my team, but we keep hitting roadblocks. The minimum specs seem crazy!
