I'm considering switching my laptop to Linux, specifically Fedora or Mint. I use this laptop for school, mainly for design tasks involving Adobe and Canva. I'm also interested in learning a bit of coding for networking. Given these needs, is it a good idea to make this switch?

I’ve been using Mint on my old laptop for years, and it runs like a champ. Just be sure to check with your school about using potential alternatives for Adobe products.
If you need to use Adobe apps for your school projects, you might want to reconsider. Adobe doesn’t support Linux natively, so it could complicate your design work.
Switching to Linux was one of the best decisions I made! I got better battery life, even on the heavier KDE Plasma setup. You might want to try a lighter desktop like Xfce for even better performance.
Go for it! I run Fedora on my laptop. Just make sure to ask if you can use Linux alternatives for your design projects since Adobe doesn’t work with Linux. But for coding and office work, it's fantastic!
Yes, definitely give it a shot! There are great alternatives like GIMP and Inkscape for design work. Plus, coding on Linux is just as good as on any other OS. Many are switching to Linux lately because of all the issues with Windows updates. Just be mindful that some applications might not work, but FlatPak greatly eases this problem.
What about office applications for Linux? Are there good alternatives?

Actually, Adobe is just for hobby stuff. For school, I mainly just need office applications and Canva.
