Is the “0 Down / Monthly Payment” Model Better for Selling Local Services?

I'm curious about the effectiveness of offering a '0 down / $100 monthly payment' model for selling local service businesses. My plan has been to get 2-3 clients a month by selling a 5-page website for $3,000, which I think could keep me afloat. However, I've noticed many freelancers advertising contracts with low monthly payments instead. Is this approach actually more successful in attracting customers? What's the best strategy—upfront cash or long-term payment plans? I could really use some advice on this! Just to clarify, I mean a one-time payment of $3,000 versus ongoing payments of $100 indefinitely.

I've been doing the monthly payment model for a while now. It’s definitely a long-term strategy where you don't see immediate returns, but the consistent monthly income can be super helpful over time as long as you maintain the site or app. Just keep in mind, it can take a while to build up a significant client base for that steady cash flow.

That sounds interesting! How long did it take you to get enough clients for this model to really pay off?
