Is the 5060 Ti a Solid Upgrade for Modern Games at 1080p?

I'm a bit of a newbie here and I'm curious if the 5060 Ti is a good enough upgrade for running modern games. Currently, I have an RTX 4060 paired with an Intel i7-12700KF and 32GB of RAM. I feel like my biggest bottleneck is the VRAM. I mainly play on 1080p 60Hz monitors, and I want to enjoy games like Helldivers 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds at solid 60fps, preferably with settings on medium or high and using DLSS. One concern I have is that I've heard mixed reviews about whether the 5060 Ti actually has 8GB or 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM. The listing says 16GB, but some reviews claim it's only 8GB. Can anyone clarify if the 16GB version is worth it?

To clarify, you should definitely get the 16GB version of the 5060 Ti. The confusion you’re experiencing around the VRAM specs is common. As for the performance, many users have reported that even mid-tier setups struggle with games like Monster Hunter Wilds, so it’s not just your VRAM holding you back. As long as you go with the 16GB, you should be in a good spot. Plus, it allows for future-proofing.

It sounds like you’re running into some performance issues with your current setup. I’ve seen that the 5060 Ti is available in both 8GB and 16GB versions. Honestly, I’d recommend going for the 16GB version since the 8GB option is likely to become a bottleneck in the future. If your primary games are Helldivers 2 and Monster Hunter Wilds, the 16GB should give you a smoother experience at 1080p. Just make sure you’re definitely getting the right variant when you purchase. You might also want to keep an eye on AMD's 9060 XT as a budget-friendly alternative that offers decent performance as well.

Yeah, I can confirm that. 5060 Ti’s 8GB version won’t age well, especially with how fast games are using more VRAM these days.

Just be mindful that a lot of games are still unoptimized. Even with a solid card, you might need to tweak settings to hit that 60fps.

Honestly, your RTX 4060 should be fine for 1080p unless you're cranking the settings all the way up. But if you’re looking for a dependable upgrade, the 5060 Ti 16GB is a solid choice. It’s better for handling at least medium settings. Just make sure you’re choosing carefully between the 8GB and 16GB versions when buying; there's a lot of sketchy marketing out there.

Totally agree. The naming schemes are confusing! Always check the specs, especially on budget cards.

Welcome to the GPU naming nightmare! The 5060 Ti does indeed have both options, but for today’s gaming, 16GB is the way to go. I guess it depends on the games you’re targeting, but getting something that’s guaranteed to perform well in the long run is key. Also, Helldivers 2 can be a resource hog, but with good settings, you should manage those 60fps with the right card.
