I've been using the same PC for about six years now with a 2060 Super, but it's really starting to show its age. I'm planning to replace everything and basically start fresh. After some research, I keep seeing recommendations for the 5070 Ti or the 5080. I'm wondering if the standard 5070 would be able to handle most games on high settings and maintain good FPS over the next couple of years. Would it be better to invest in the 5070 Ti or 5080 instead?

I got the 5070 Ti with 16GB and I mainly do 4K gaming on high to ultra settings. It's done a great job for me. I skipped the basic 5070 since I didn't think the jump from my 3070 was worth it. However, the 5070 is capable of handling most high-end 1440p games, but you may hit some limits with certain titles.
The 5070 might actually be one of the best options right now if you find it at the right price. At about $550, it's pretty decent. However, check local prices because they can vary a lot! For example, I live in an area where the 5070 Ti is listed around that price, but some places may have it much higher.
I picked up the 5070 a month ago for €550 and I'm pretty satisfied with it playing at 1440p on high settings. It’s a solid card! If I had a bit more cash, I'd consider the 5070 Ti for a little extra future-proofing. Just keep in mind how much you're willing to spend. I think the 5080 might not be worth it based on cost-per-frame, though.
First off, what resolution do you plan on gaming at? If it's 1440p, I'd definitely suggest the 5070 Ti over the standard 5070. The 5070 can manage 1080p gaming just fine, but a lot of people are concerned about its 12GB of VRAM. If you're aiming for decent performance over the next few years, especially with the new AAA titles that will demand more memory, you might want to go with the 5070 Ti instead.

Did you come across any games that didn't perform as well as you hoped with the 5070? I'd love to know if there were any issues.
