Hey everyone! I'm looking for advice on what tools you use for Windows patching. We recently started using Entra for our devices along with Intune, but I'm not too experienced with Intune's patching capabilities. Do you think Intune is better since it's from Microsoft, or are there valid reasons to consider Datto instead?

Auto patch in Intune has been pretty effective for managing Windows devices. There's also Action1, which is free for up to 200 devices, and users find it surprisingly good!
People have mixed feelings. Intune works if you're fully invested in Entra, but it can be a bit slow to set up. On the other hand, Datto can be more user-friendly for quick visibility on issues, but might lack flexibility.
Using the built-in update rings with Intune has worked well for us. Autopatch is also available, but I have concerns about losing control over release dates.
Intune is super straightforward. Just set up the update rings, and it manages things pretty well on its own. If you need something for laptops and servers, NinjaOne is another solid option you might explore.
Honestly, both tools have their pitfalls. If you're mostly patching Windows, Datto might keep your sanity intact, but Action1 seems to be the better choice for free options. It's tough to recommend either over the other.
