I'm considering an upgrade from my old RX 5700 (non-XT) to a faster GPU with ideally more than 8GB of VRAM. I play games at 1080p, and I have a 700W PSU. My budget is around 300-400€ (I'm in Italy). I've been looking at used GPUs and found the 6800 XT with 16GB of VRAM. From what I've seen in benchmarks, it offers fantastic performance for the price. However, I'm worried about its age since it was released back in 2020. Do you think it's too old? Will it be able to hold up for a few more years? Alternatives like the 9060 XT, 4060 Ti, and 4070 are just too pricey here.

I own a 6800 XT and can play at 4K with decent FPS. For your needs at 1080p, it's definitely more than enough! Just keep in mind the PSU wattage, as it might limit your options for overclocking.
I picked up a used 6800 XT last year, and it's been great paired with my 5700X3D. I'm comfortably gaming at 1440p. Expect solid performance, but just remember, it might lack some modern software support like the latest upscaling tech. It should still last you a while, especially at 1080p.
It fits well for 1080p gaming. Just watch out for any potential bottlenecks with your PSU.
Consider the RX 6800 (non-XT). It's usually cheaper, less power-hungry, and performs well at 1080p and 1440p too.
The 6800 XT is still a solid performer, especially for 1080p and 1440p games. Just be cautious with pricing—some of these older cards are overpriced right now due to the 16GB VRAM. Overall, if you can find a good deal, it's a pretty good choice for mid-range gaming.
If you're worried about future-proofing, maybe look at a used 3080 instead. While the 6800 XT has solid specs, it lacks some modern upscaling features and might not get good driver support for much longer.

That's cool! Do you find any games struggle on it?
