I'm considering whether it's worth it to get the 9800X3D for $519 when the 7800X3D is available for $394. My primary focus is gaming, but I also want something that performs well for productivity tasks. Right now, I'm gaming at 1080p but have plans to upgrade to 1440p. I've noticed the price for the 9800X3D has gone up recently, and I'm trying to decide if the performance benefits justify the cost. Here's my full build: [PCPartPicker Link](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FkYfC8).

If productivity is a priority, you might want to look at options like the 7700X or the 9700X for better clock speeds, or even the 7900X and 9900X. Both the 7800X3D and 9800X3D could be average for productivity.
I’d say no way! The price difference isn’t justifiable. The 9800X3D might've been worth it when both were priced closer together, but now that the 7800X3D is almost $100 less thanks to bundles, it’s a no-brainer. Plus, CPUs aren't like GPUs—getting them in stock again at a lower price isn’t out of the question.
Honestly, it’s not a huge upgrade. Since you're planning to keep the CPU for a long time, maybe the extra cost is worth it in the long run. The 9800X3D should hold its value better than the 7800X3D simply because it’s a newer model.
That seems misleading. The 9700X has a max clock of 5.7, while the 9800X3D is at 5.45. So, you're only looking at about a 6% difference. If you're asking about these CPUs, maybe you're not aiming for a high-performance workstation.
