Hey everyone, I'm considering building a system with an AMD 9950x3d paired with a 5060ti. I want to know if this setup would run smoothly for my productivity needs, mainly for multitasking, and if it can handle some casual gaming on weekends. Ideally, I'm hoping to achieve around 80-100+ FPS at 1080p with ultra settings in most games, as I'm not focused on 1440p or higher. Also, any recommendations for an air cooler that would work well in a small form factor build?

If your focus is mostly on productivity, you might want to stick with the regular 9950x instead of the x3d. You could use the money you save to upgrade to a better GPU, which could improve your gaming experience significantly.

Good point! A 9950x paired with a 5070 could give you better performance for productivity and gaming.

You're going for one of the top consumer CPUs, which is great! But it really depends on what you mean by productivity. The 16 cores of the 9950x3d are excellent for heavy tasks like video editing but may not have much impact on everyday multitasking. And for a small form factor build, I'd recommend going with a 240mm AIO cooler instead of an air cooler to save space.

Thanks for the insight! Do you think the CPU and GPU will work well together without bottleneck issues? I'm just a casual gamer looking for a balance.
