Is the AMD Radeon VII GPU Worth Adding to My Build?

I'm considering building a PC and a family member has offered me an old GPU they have. The card in question is the AMD Radeon VII, which I believe is a Vega 2. I've had some trouble determining its performance level and whether it's suitable for 4K gaming and sim racing, especially since my budget for the build was around $1,500. I'd love to know if this GPU can fit into my planned setup, whether I should sell it instead, or if I should downgrade my entire build for this card. Also, I'd like to understand what the Razer Core X is and if it can be integrated into my build since this GPU was previously used with it.

You're looking at a Radeon VII, which was solid for its time but is now about half the speed of the RTX 5070 Ti that you have planned. While you could technically use it, it won't perform well for 4K gaming as you've hoped. The Razer Core X is just an external GPU housing, primarily useful for connecting GPUs to laptops via Thunderbolt. It's not really ideal for your setup.

What about my CPU, the 9700x? Is that overkill for the Radeon VII? I'm curious about how much a PC built around the Vega 2 would cost and perform. Should I sell it or make a separate budget PC with it?
