Is the Globlinker ‘Lifetime’ Global Wi-Fi Hotspot Too Good to Be True?

I travel quite a bit and often deal with the challenges of eSIMs, finding reliable Wi-Fi, and unlocking phones. Recently, I came across a device that claims to provide 'Portable Wi-Fi anywhere you go.' It's supposed to connect to the strongest local mobile network and work in the US and over 130 countries. The offer sounds enticing: a one-time cost for a device that supposedly gives you 2GB of data monthly for life, rolling over unused data. However, I have serious doubts about its legitimacy. Has anyone had any experience with this device? What concerns should I have? Is it really possible to get a lifetime hotspot for such a low price?

Honestly, I’m not sure how they can promise such stability and privacy compared to an eSIM. Plus, 2GB a month feels pretty tight if you’re streaming or working on the go.

I get that, but the rollover does seem interesting. If you buy it ahead of time, you could save data for when you travel. Still, it feels like one of those too-good-to-be-true situations.

Beware that 'lifetime' often means the company's lifetime, not yours. They could make a bunch of sales, then close shop.

Why are you having trouble unlocking your phone? Just buy it unlocked from the vendor! Plus, you didn't mention how much this device costs or how often you travel. For 2GB a month, that's not great unless you know the overage costs. I usually grab a 10GB eSIM for $10-15 while traveling, which lasts me just fine and without surprise fees.

Thanks for the tip! Just wanted to be careful about posting links, but I found the device here: https://globlinker.com/products/globlinker%E2%84%A2-portable-wi-fi-hotspot? It’s under $200. What do you think?

I just stick with Google Fi. Works great in all the countries I've visited without needing extra setups.

How much will you actually pay if you exceed that 2GB limit each month? Do they notify you before charging extra?
