Hey everyone! I'm super excited as I'm building my first PC. All my parts are here except for the CPU, which is still showing "order received" from Amazon with no updates on shipping. I'm considering whether to cancel and buy a i7-14700K from Newegg or explore other CPU options. My main goal is to run 3D modeling software (like FEA and CFD) since my old laptop just can't keep up. I'm not into gaming or video editing. Here's what I've got for my build so far: Intel® Core™ i7-14700K, PNY GeForce RTX™ 4070 GPU, Noctua NH-D15 CPU Cooler, MSI - Z790 GAMING PLUS WIFI Motherboard, CORSAIR - VENGEANCE 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5, Samsung - 990 PRO 1TB SSD, and a SeaSonic FOCUS GX ATX 3.1 750W power supply. Any advice would be much appreciated!

You're all good with the i7-14700K! Intel has worked out many of their previous issues with this new line. The only downside is that you're kind of locked into that socket for upgrades, unlike AMD's AM5 platform. Also, just a heads-up—you might want to adjust the BIOS settings for memory to avoid any odd overvoltage issues. No worries, though, it should handle your modeling tasks fine!
If you really want Intel, then the 15th gen is where you should be focusing. Just make sure the 4070 wasn't too pricey since the newer 5070 is a much better option. Also, consider looking at alternatives for the cooler; Thermalright PA120 offers similar performance for a fraction of the cost! Don't forget to use pcpartpicker.com for checking compatibility.

Yikes, yeah I might have to rethink some parts. I'm on partpicker now!
