I'm considering buying the latest Humble Bundle that features a collection of SQL and database-related books. I'm hoping to find out if these books are good resources for building a solid foundation. I currently lack enough database books, and I'd like to know if the ones in this bundle would serve as useful references, as well as help me advance beyond the basic SQL class I took during my degree.

In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with O'Reilly books. They tend to be reliable for those looking to build their knowledge. However, I understand your concerns. If the bundle doesn’t cover enough of the basics for you or help expand your skills adequately for a starter project, then it might not be worth prioritizing. Still, I've generally found their books to be quite good.
