I'm considering purchasing an RTX 5070 graphics card, but I'm worried because my CPU is a Ryzen 5 8500G. Should I go ahead and buy the RTX 5070 and upgrade my CPU later, or should I look for a different graphics card? I'd actually recommend considering the 9070 (XT) instead. It's usually cheaper, has more VRAM, and outperforms the 5070 by around 8%. While FSR4 isn't as good as DLSS 4.5, it's still very capable, especially at its price point.
It's totally fine to go with the RTX 5070! Just focus on upgrading your GPU now, and when budget allows, you can upgrade your CPU later. You’ll find that even with that CPU, the GPU will still perform well. On the power supply side, what model do you currently have?
Don’t stress about bottlenecks too much; having a powerful GPU like the RTX 5070 with a slightly weaker CPU is perfectly okay. It just means your GPU will shine brighter once you upgrade your CPU in the future! But yeah, what’s the exact model of your current power supply?
