Is the RTX 5070 Worth the Extra $250 Over the RTX 5060 Ti?

I'm trying to decide between the RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB and the RTX 5070 with 12GB, and I know this topic comes up a lot. I really want to know if the 5070 is worth the extra $250 in my area. My budget is somewhat flexible, but I'd like to avoid overspending on something too powerful for my needs. I'm hoping to find a balance that's good enough now but also a bit future-proof.

I have a 27" 2K 180Hz monitor and currently play Valorant, but I'm looking to dive into more demanding titles like Cyberpunk down the line. My CPU is a 7600X3D, and I'm aiming for decent resolutions and refresh rates—ideally over 80Hz—when I tackle those AAA games. Will the 5070 be overkill for what I need, or is the 5060 Ti sufficient? Also, how does resale value compare between the Ti series and non-Ti models? Thanks in advance!

The RTX 5070 is definitely going to perform better at 1440p and higher resolutions. If you're planning on gaming at that level, it’s a solid investment for the future.

I’ve had both cards, and I liked the 5070 more even at 1080p. I just feel smoother gameplay is essential, and if you can manage the extra cost, go with the 5070. The 16GB in the 5060 Ti is decent, but the 5070 feels like the better choice overall.

Honestly, if you're leaning towards the 5070, check out the 9070 non-XT; it’s the best value right now if you’re not relying on CUDA. Consider going AMD instead!

Hey, just because it’s your pick doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for everyone! Let people make their own decisions.

Considering the market, I’d recommend the 5060 Ti. Its price is likely to rise because of increased demand from AI data centers. You can always resell it later to upgrade to a 5070.

If your budget allows for it, I’d say go for the 5070. It’ll handle the newer titles better and give you more longevity as games become more demanding.

I faced the same dilemma and I went with the 5070—zero regrets!
