Hey everyone! I'm planning to upgrade from my 1080 Ti to something a bit more modern for ray tracing, but I'm a bit stuck on compatibility. I'm using an Intel Core i5-8600K 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor on an Asus Prim Z370-A motherboard with 32GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-2400 memory and an EVGA 650 Gold power supply. I wanted to go for an RTX 5060, but I've heard it might bottleneck with my CPU. I'm looking to play at 1440p and enjoy both modern AAA titles like CyberPunk and Hogwarts Legacy as well as some older games. What's your take on whether the RX 9060 XT will work well with my setup?

Check out this bottleneck calculator I found. It doesn’t detect any major bottleneck issues at 1440p with your setup and the RX 9060 XT. But remember, these calculators can sometimes be misleading.
Yeah, I just checked, and it says no major bottleneck at that resolution. Seems promising!
Your CPU is a bit outdated, so while the RX 9060 XT will run, it might not reach its full potential compared to a more modern CPU. But don’t worry, it won’t damage anything in your setup. When you decide to upgrade your CPU later on, you'll definitely see improved performance then!
So am I still getting a good upgrade? I just want at least 60fps and beautiful graphics. Will this combo deliver that?
Glad to hear that! I wasn’t sure if I needed more than just a GPU upgrade for now.
Consider upgrading your RAM. Four sticks of 2400MHz is the lowest DDR4 speed and faster RAM will definitely help overall performance. Aim for two sticks instead so you can run in dual-channel mode!
But isn’t the i5-8600K capped at 2666MHz? How much difference does that make?

Honestly, I've seen those calculators be way off before; not sure how much I trust them!
