I'm looking to upgrade my budget PC and considering a used Ryzen 5800X3D for around $220. From what I've gathered, the CPU's larger cache helps compensate for the absence of DDR5 speeds. Besides the processor, I plan to buy an AM4 motherboard for about $80. I'm aware that the AM4 platform is reaching its end-of-life, as well as the DDR4 RAM. Is it worth picking up the 5800X3D at this price?

For $220, it's definitely worth it! You're getting some solid performance, especially with the extra cache.
Do you already have DDR4 RAM? If so, that’s perfect. The 5800X3D will work well with your setup!

Yes, I have 16GB of DDR4 2133!
