Is it necessary to switch my RTX 5070 to PCIe 4.0 for stability?

I recently upgraded to an RTX 5070, which uses PCIe 5.0, and my motherboard (ASUS PRIME B760 Plus DDR5) is also PCIe 5.0 compatible. However, I've seen some discussions suggesting that using the card on PCIe 5.0 might lead to stability issues. Some have mentioned that switching to PCIe 4.0 in the BIOS can help with those problems. Should I make the switch, or is it better to stick with PCIe 5.0?

I think you're overthinking it. There are generally no issues with PCIe 5.0.

Do you think those issues were related to builds using riser cables? Sometimes those cables can signal incorrectly and cause instability at higher speeds. If that’s the case, adjusting the PCIe setting to match the riser might help.

Don't worry about fixing something that isn't broken. If you're not having any issues, then there's no need to change it.

If you haven't experienced any issues so far, it's probably best to leave it on PCIe 5.0. Most people find it stable without any problems.

I recommend trying it on PCIe 5.0 first. If you do run into issues, then you can always switch to PCIe 4.0 as a troubleshooting step.

Thanks for the advice! I haven’t had any problems yet, just wanted to be sure about stability. I’ll keep it at 5.0 unless something goes wrong!
