Is the Windows 10 installation media from Microsoft actually safe despite VirusTotal comments?

Hey everyone! I just downloaded the Windows 10 installation media straight from the official Microsoft website. I ran it through VirusTotal, and it came back clean with no detections, which is great to see. However, when I checked the comments on VirusTotal, I noticed some users are claiming it's linked to 'malicious ware' and other sketchy stuff. This is making me a bit paranoid even though the scan is clean. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried about the comments despite the clean scan?

Honestly, you shouldn't worry too much. If VirusTotal shows zero detections, that’s usually a good sign. A lot of negativity in comments can just come from trolls looking to stir up fear. Just make sure to keep your system updated and secure!

Thanks for the reassurance!

It's all good! Most people who comment about Windows 10 or 11 being unsafe are just spreading FUD. Microsoft provides official downloads, and if VirusTotal gives it a clean bill of health, you should be fine.

Appreciate the response!

If you're still uncertain, using a tool like RUFUS can help you make a USB installer that directly downloads the latest version of Windows. That way, you can feel even safer about the installation. Just a thought!

Sounds good, I’ll give that a try!
