Is There a Better Alternative to Drupal for Expense Tracking?

I'm looking for a simple CRM or secure form solution for tracking expenses on the go. The idea is to have multiple users enter data like supplier, date, amount, and category, which I can then fetch nightly via Excel. Initially, I thought about using Drupal, but I'm wondering if there's something more efficient out there. Ideally, I'd like something lighter than Drupal or an existing form service that won't cost me more than a domain name and hosting. Plus, I want it to be user-friendly, as I don't want to spend too much time setting up and managing accounts myself.

You might want to check out Backdrop. Lots of people say it has the good old Drupal 7 vibes but with a more modern twist. It's lighter and might fit your needs better.

I personally prefer Drupal 8 and up, especially now with version 11 out. The Symfony framework has really improved things, but I get why you might want to consider other options!
