I'm planning to build a PC for my wife to play modded Minecraft, and I've picked out some budget parts. I need to know if this setup is good enough for her gaming needs. Here's what I'm considering:

- CPU: [Amazon Link](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09VCJN7HZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1)
- Motherboard: [Amazon Link](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MWGKHR9/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A39LAUWR53IY4G&psc=1)
- PSU: [Amazon Link](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014W3EM2W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1)
- RAM: [Amazon Link](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F7ZLD91/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=AWD7GDDT7Q2ZT&psc=1)
- Storage: [Amazon Link](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YFF8879/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?smid=AE3YR9AX5P25J&psc=1)
I also have an RTX 2060 ready to use in it. Will this setup work for playing modded Minecraft?

For a budget build, consider going for an R5 CPU with a motherboard and RAM combo from Microcenter. You'll want at least 16GB of RAM and ideally 6GB of VRAM. That setup you listed might not cut it for modded Minecraft.

Minecraft can be quite CPU-intensive, especially with mods, so you might need a decent processor. A good 8-core CPU is recommended for stable performance, especially if you want to avoid lag. Don't forget a CPU cooler as the 5800x doesn’t come with one! Also, consider upgrading your SSD to 512GB since mod packs can take up a lot of space.

You actually need a solid setup for modded Minecraft. Depending on the mods she wants to use, a decent CPU can significantly impact the experience!

Honestly, if you're on a tight budget, I think buying a used PC could be a better option than getting the cheapest new parts. You'll get more bang for your buck that way.

Playing modded Minecraft with just 8GB of RAM might be tricky. I'd recommend upgrading to 16GB if possible. It's not a huge increase in cost and would really help performance with mods.

Absolutely! The price difference for RAM isn't that steep, and 16GB will make a noticeable difference.

Minecraft can actually perform worse with too much allocated RAM. 8GB is okay for many modpacks!

Aim for at least 16GB of RAM and consider a Ryzen 5 5600 for the CPU. It should work with your motherboard, but just check if it needs a BIOS update first.
