I'm planning to build my first gaming PC and have a budget of €1000. I want to aim for stable 60fps at 1080p to play most games, and I'm okay with lower fps or resolution if necessary. Here are the components I'm considering:

- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (6 Cores / 12 Threads)
- Motherboard: ASUS Prime B650M-R (AM5, DDR5 support)
- Graphics Card: Palit GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB (suitable for 1080 gaming)
- Memory: 32 GB DDR5 5600 (for multitasking and gaming)
- Storage: 500 GB NVMe SSD (3200 MB/s)
- Power Supply: EVGA 850W Gold (for stable power delivery)
- Cooling: Thermaltake Air Cooler for CPU and 5x ARGB Fans for airflow

Is this build too much or too little? Looking for feedback! Thanks!

No worries! The setup looks decent for gaming at 1080p. Just keep in mind that with the current prices, you might be able to snag a better GPU for a similar price, which will definitely future-proof your build.

I've noticed that too! It’s a great time to build!

That's a good call. Prices have been dropping lately!

Hey! Your choices are ambitious but I suggest focusing on getting a 1TB SSD instead. You'll want plenty of space for games. Also, the CPU might be a bit overkill unless you're doing heavy multitasking. A 7600X would be a smarter choice and save you some money, which you can allocate to the GPU.

FrugalGamer23 -

Yeah, a better GPU will definitely make a more noticeable difference in gaming performance!

Exactly! You don’t want to be deleting games just to install new ones.

Honestly, this build seems a bit off. The motherboard isn't the best for performance, and an 850W power supply is pretty excessive for this budget. Also, 500GB of storage might fill up quickly, especially with new games. Consider prioritizing a better GPU or an AMD GPU instead of the RTX 4060 for better value. You could really benefit from upgrades in that area!

Realist88 -

Totally agree! If you’re going for budget, make sure every component counts, especially the GPU.

BudgetBuilder91 -

Right? Plus, going for a lower watt PSU might save you some cash to invest elsewhere.

Just be careful not to go too high on specs for your budget. You may want to rethink that RTX 4060 since there are better options out there. Also consider getting a 650W PSU to cut down on costs.

ThriftyTechie -

Yeah, that's a solid recommendation! You can really balance power needs with cost.

FutureProofFan -

And it leaves some budget room for those upgrades you might want in the future.

Since you're looking for value, I'd recommend trying to find a GPU with at least 16GB of VRAM. The market has some options that would fit within your budget and provide better longevity for 1080p gaming.

PCPerfectionist -

Definitely true! More VRAM will only help with future titles.

You'll thank yourself later when you don't have to compromise on settings.
