Hey everyone! So, I finally saved up some cash and I'm looking to upgrade my PC from a Ryzen 3600 and RTX 2070. I'm focusing on gaming performance. I visited my local store (LDLC in France) and they recommended a build featuring an AMD Ryzen 9800x3d along with a GeForce RTX 5080. Here's the breakdown of the parts they suggested:
- AMD Ryzen 9800x3d: 580€
- Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 Pro 360: 125€
- MSI MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI: 360€
- Kingston FURY Beast 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 MHz: 130€
- Samsung SSD 990 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe NVMe 2TB: 150€
- Gainward GeForce RTX 5080 Phoenix: 1250€
- Seasonic FOCUS GX-1000 ATX 3: 250€
- NZXT H7 Flow: 130€
- Arctic P12 PWM PST (4 units): 36€
Total cost is 3000€. The store will assemble it for me and provides a 3-year warranty with quick replacements for any faulty parts. They also offer free check-ups and cleaning.
Do you think this combination of parts is solid? Is this a decent deal considering the services offered? I really want the assurance of a qualified assembly and support, but I'm curious if this is on the pricey side. Thanks a lot!

If your budget allows for it, I think this is a great upgrade from what you currently have! You might not get the absolute best price-to-performance ratio, but coming from the 2070 and Ryzen 3600, you'll definitely feel the difference in gaming performance!
Honestly, the build looks pretty solid and should give you great FPS in games! Just a thought - why go for a 120mm cooling fan? Some people prefer 140mm fans for improved airflow. Additionally, have you considered a B650E or B850E motherboard instead of the X870? They're usually more budget-friendly and could still meet your gaming needs unless you have plans for more PCIe devices?
What do you mean by US prices? And about the fans, I can check on 140mm ones if that's better. As for the motherboard, I mentioned the B650 as well, but the store said X870 would draw more power for the build. I focused on gaming but might look into the B650E or B850E options.
Thanks for the reassurance! I'm treating myself and just want to make sure everything fits well together!
