Is This PC Build Good for Gaming and Development?

I want to put together my first PC using a Microcenter bundle that includes the Ryzen 7 7700X, all for under $1000. This system will be used for gaming (mainly The Sims 4 and Elden Ring) and for some software development where CUDA comes into play. I chose the 7700X over the 7600X because I read it has a better motherboard and handles non-gaming tasks better, while still gaming adequately.

Here's what I've chosen so far:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7700X ($370 in bundle)
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2 ($370 in bundle)
- RAM: 2x16GB G.Skill Flare X5 ($370 in bundle)
- GPU: Gigabyte Windforce OC GeForce RTX 3060 12GB ($330 on Newegg)
- Case: Phanteks XT Pro ($72 on Newegg)
- Power Supply: CORSAIR CX750 80 PLUS Bronze ($80 on Newegg)
- Storage: SAMSUNG 990 EVO PLUS SSD 1TB ($70 on Newegg)
- CPU cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE V2 ($50 on Newegg)

Total: $972

My concern is about the case, power supply, storage, and cooler. I picked the cooler based on recommendations for the 7700X. I chose the storage to start with 1TB using a well-rated Samsung model. For the power supply, I wanted something reliable with more than the estimated 500W. Lastly, the case appealed to me for its design and tempered glass side. Does this build make sense? Did I overlook anything?

Honestly, I'd consider the 7600X or even the 9600X bundle to save some cash for a better GPU. The most demanding thing you'll likely do is gaming, and the 9600X performs well in that area. Also, don't forget to get extra case fans—good airflow is key!

Your build is decent! Just keep in mind that the PSU you selected is a bit mediocre. It’ll do the job, but a 750W+ gold-rated supply would be a better choice. Also, the Phanteks case has only one exhaust fan, which might require you to add more for better airflow.

This build looks pretty solid for a first-timer! You made great choices overall. I would recommend checking out Amazon for the Thermalright cooler as it often goes for around $35. If you have the budget, consider upgrading the GPU; it’ll pay off in the long run!
