I'm considering buying a PC for casual gaming and office work, but I'm not that experienced with the differences in CPUs and GPUs. A friend of a friend is selling me a 5-year-old PC with these specs: an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (8 Core / 16 Thread), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super, and 32GB of TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB DDR4-3600MHz RAM, all for $1150 AUD (about $780 USD). I'd love to hear if you think this is worth the price and any advice you might have!

I think it's a pretty decent offer, especially with the 5700X3D being in demand. You could always upgrade the GPU later if you want more performance.
This is a good deal, especially given the current state of the PC market. Building a comparable system from scratch would likely cost you more, even with used parts.
While the RTX 2080 Super is somewhat outdated, it's still a capable card. The 5700X3D is one of the top CPUs on the AM4 platform. So, considering the specs, it's a decent setup at a fair price.
When you say that it is outdated, does that have any implications on performance for newer software?

Isn’t the motherboard a dead end for future upgrades?
