Is This Pop-Up Warning a Scam?

I was playing a game on my Google phone when I suddenly got redirected to a sketchy website. It claimed that I had malware and warned me that I only had 5 minutes to fix it before the damage became permanent. I closed Chrome and the issue disappeared. Is this something I should be worried about, or was it just a scam?

Nope, that was definitely a scam! Good job closing the tab. Just steer clear of that website in the future.

Absolutely a scam if a website claims you have malware. It’s designed to scare you into clicking their fake support links. Just close it and forget about it.
Those sites often have buttons like 'check now' to lure you in.

Yeah, I noticed the big green 'check now' button. Pretty suspicious, right?

Glad you closed it before falling for it!

Totally a scam. Don't let those scare tactics get to you!

For sure a scam! No website can actually tell you if you have malware, even if it looks like a Windows notification. Only rely on trusted antivirus software for security checks. Great instincts recognizing it!
