Is this strange Wi-Fi network something to worry about?

I recently experienced a Wi-Fi outage at home, so I reset my internet connection. However, I noticed something odd: when I disconnect my router, a network called "we.piranha.xb6" disappears along with it and reappears when my router is connected. I have panoramic Wi-Fi, which normally runs two networks, but this specific name doesn't seem familiar. I tried searching online and found mixed information—some say it's normal for Comcast/Xfinity users, but I actually use Cox, a completely different provider. Some sources even suggest it could be linked to a Pegasus Wi-Fi capture device. Should I be worried about this, or is it just a normal occurrence?

Honestly, Cox can be pretty questionable, so it’s good that you’re being cautious. A solid first step is to factory reset your Wi-Fi device again, change the default admin password right away, and set up your SSIDs with strong passwords. If you can use WPA2 or WPA3, definitely do that for better security. If you’re using a managed service, it’s worth calling them to check things out further. Just curious, what do you mean by having panoramic Wi-Fi that runs two networks?

Check out this article I found! It covers some Wi-Fi interception issues: [https://cyberscoop.com/wifi-interception-jenovice-cyber-labs-israel/](https://cyberscoop.com/wifi-interception-jenovice-cyber-labs-israel/). I’d reset all connected devices and your router just to be safe.

Looks like someone in your neighborhood might be hijacking Wi-Fi connections.
