I'm considering switching to Ubuntu but I've heard there have been some controversies surrounding it. I'm interested in knowing what those controversies were and if they're still relevant today. I find Ubuntu quite user-friendly and it seems like the perfect distro for my needs. Should I go ahead and use it, or should I look for other distributions?

I’ve had a good experience with Ubuntu on my laptop and workstation—no major complaints here! It’s simple and just works, which is all I really need.
I understand there are controversies, like Ubuntu including Amazon links in the past. But are these concerns still relevant for new users today?
You should definitely give Ubuntu a try! It’s all about what works for you. Make up your own mind and don’t let others sway you too much. Just see how it feels for you personally.
I needed to hear this! By the way, what distro are you using?
True, but it helps to consider other opinions too. We should always make informed choices based on what fits our needs.
Some people are a bit critical about the Snap packages because they can make things slower. Personally, I found them annoying on older hardware and switched to Pop!_OS. But if they help keep your browser up to date, that’s a bonus!
I hear you about the snaps, but they do have their perks. I prefer Flatpak for user apps, but everyone has their own preferences!
If you like it, stick with it! If not, no harm done—just try something else until you find what suits you best.
Ubuntu is pretty solid nowadays. Sure, Canonical has had some odd decisions, but it’s user-friendly and generally reliable now.
