I'm considering an upgrade from my current 3070 to either a 5070 or a 5070 Ti, but I can't afford to replace my CPU right now. I want to know if these graphics cards will be severely bottlenecked by my 5700G or if they'll still allow me to enjoy the games I like. I mainly play single-player games at 1440p and prefer having the graphics set to high. The extra VRAM on these new cards sounds really appealing, especially since I'm starting to struggle with newer AAA titles. What do you think?

I run a 5070 with a 5600X (with some tweaks for performance). In my experience, the bottleneck at 1440p is minimal, around 5-10%. However, it’s noticeable if you drop to 1080p.
Just so you know, performance might drop for you on PCIe 3.0, while I benefit from PCIe 4.0.
Upgrading to a 5070 will definitely enhance your gaming experience at 1440p. You'll be able to max out many current games without much trouble. Just keep in mind that you might want to use DLSS or frame generation if you need a bit more FPS boost.
You may experience some bottlenecking, but by maxing out the settings, you're actually minimizing the impact. It’s worth considering if you should instead look at the 9070 with 16GB of VRAM if you’re going for maximum settings.
Doesn’t the Ti also have 16GB? I haven't researched much, I'm used to NVIDIA so I'm not sure about the benefits of the 9070.
True, even switching from a 5700G to a 5600X and getting a 9070 would be a better choice. The 5700G uses PCIe 3.0, while the 5600X uses PCIe 4.0, which would provide better performance.

That's great to hear! I'm also at 1440p, so it sounds like I’d get similar results.
