Is upgrading from GTX 1660 Ti to RX 9060 XT with Ryzen 5 5500 a good idea for 1440p gaming?

I'm looking to improve my gaming experience and considering moving from a GTX 1660 Ti to a Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB. My current setup includes a Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO-CF motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 700W power supply. I usually play games like Battlefield 6 and struggle with FPS at decent graphics settings. I want to know if my Ryzen 5 5500 will bottleneck the RX 9060 XT at 1440p, if there are potential issues like stuttering or low GPU utilization, and whether upgrading my GPU first is a smart choice in my situation.

At 1440p, the Ryzen 5 5500 is going to be less of a bottleneck compared to 1080p. While you might experience some limitations in certain games, I still think it’s a solid upgrade choice. Plus, the RX 9060 XT has great performance.

I just realized I have a 1080p monitor too. Do you think I should still upgrade?

Honestly, the RX 9060 XT is an excellent choice. The Ryzen 5 5500 is still pretty capable, similar to the 3600. You can always consider upgrading your CPU in the future, but if you want to dive into 1440p gaming, those graphics will really shine, especially if you're not overly concerned with high refresh rates.
